FAQs

Are your tours private?

Yes. All Sydney Experience Co tours are designed as private experiences for you and your group, rather than being shared with other guests.

This means you can enjoy Sydney at your own pace, without having to follow a large group or accommodate people you don't know.

It also gives us greater flexibility to adapt the experience around your interests, preferences and any particular requests you may have.

What can we expect to see and do on a Sydney Experience Co tour?

Our tours are designed to give you a relaxed and well-rounded introduction to Sydney, combining many of the city's iconic sights with spectacular viewpoints, local spots and places you might otherwise miss.

Depending on the experience you choose, you may visit well-known locations such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Rocks and Bondi Beach, along with some of Sydney's harbour lookouts and lesser-known gems.

Along the way, you'll hear stories about Sydney, its history and the places you're visiting, with local knowledge and context that helps bring the city to life.

How flexible are your tours?

Our private tours have been carefully planned to make the most of your time in Sydney, but there is also flexibility to customise and adapt what we do and see depending on your interests and any particular requests you may have.

If there's somewhere you'd particularly like to visit, something you'd like to spend more time exploring, or a particular interest you'd like to include, just let us know.

And if you get a sudden urge to see or do something different while we're out for the day, that's fine too. We'll always do our best to make it work where we can.

What is included in the tour price?

The price of your tour includes your local Australian host for the day, private transport throughout, pick-up and drop-off, plus complimentary snacks and drinks along the way.

Lunch is not included, but we will stop at a local restaurant, pub or similar for lunch during the day. If you have any particular requests or preferences around lunch, just let us know in advance.

How do we book or check availability, and what happens after we enquire?

The easiest way to get started is to visit your preferred tour page and use the “Check Availability” button, or simply get in touch with us directly by phone or email.

Once we receive your enquiry, we'll confirm availability for your preferred date and discuss any particular requirements or requests you may have.

If you decide to proceed, we'll send a secure payment invoice directly to your email. Payment can then be made securely online through our payment provider, with your booking confirmed once payment has been received.

There's no obligation to book when you make an enquiry, we're happy to answer any questions you may have before you decide.

How do I know my payment is secure?

Our website is powered by Shopify, a globally recognised ecommerce platform used by millions of businesses around the world. Payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments, Shopify’s integrated payment service, rather than being handled directly by Sydney Experience Co.

Shopify uses industry-standard security measures including encryption, fraud detection and 3D Secure authentication to help protect your payment information and transactions.

How many guests can you accommodate on a tour?

Our tours are private and are suitable for groups of 1 to 6 guests.

If you're travelling with a larger group, please get in touch and we'll let you know what options may be available.

How do we get around during the day?

The majority of the distance covered during the day is by private vehicle, making it easy to move between different parts of Sydney, the harbour and beaches.

There are multiple stops during our tours where we'll get out and explore on foot. This can involve some light walking, stairs and the occasional hill, but nothing particularly strenuous.

If you have any mobility concerns or would prefer to minimise walking, just let us know in advance and we can modify the day to reduce or, where possible, eliminate the amount of walking involved.

What is the price of a tour?

Pricing for your privately hosted tour will depend on the specific tour choice you make, with the full details clearly outlined on each individual tour page.

If your preference is an alternative, fully bespoke tour please get in touch with us via phone or email with your requirements and we will be happy to accommodate you if possible.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

We understand that plans can change, especially when travelling. Our cancellation and rescheduling terms are outlined in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which you can find via the link in the footer of our website.

If you have any questions about the policy or your particular circumstances, please feel free to get in touch with us.

Where do you pick up and drop off guests?

We can pick you up and drop you off at any Sydney hotel or Airbnb, Sydney Airport, or the Sydney Ferry Terminal at Circular Quay.

We can also arrange to pick you up and drop you off at different locations at the start and end of the day if that’s your preference - we just ask that you let us know your preferred pick-up and drop-off locations in advance of your tour.

How much walking is involved?

Our tours involve some light walking at various stops throughout the day, including exploring different areas, taking in viewpoints and spending time around Sydney's beaches and harbour.

There may also be some stairs and the occasional hill, but nothing particularly strenuous.

If you have any mobility concerns or would prefer to minimise walking, just let us know in advance and we can adapt the day to reduce the amount of walking involved where possible.

What happens if the weather is not ideal on the day?

Sydney generally enjoys a pleasant climate, with plenty of warm and sunny days throughout the year. As our tours include outdoor sightseeing, we simply take the weather conditions into account when planning the day and may make minor adjustments where appropriate.

In the event of severe weather conditions that would make the day genuinely unpleasant or unsafe we will try to re-schedule your tour for another day or otherwise cancel the tour and provide you with a full refund.

Are your experiences suitable for first-time visitors to Sydney?

Yes, our tour experiences are particularly well suited to first-time visitors to Sydney.

The day is designed to give you a well-rounded introduction to Sydney, covering many of the city's key highlights while also showing you parts of the city that you might not typically find on your own.

What are the best things to see and do in Sydney?

Sydney has plenty to offer, from its world-famous harbour and iconic landmarks to its beaches, coastal areas, historic neighbourhoods and lesser-known local spots.

For first-time visitors, places such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Rocks and Bondi Beach are obvious highlights, but there is plenty more to discover beyond the main attractions.

The best places to visit will depend on your interests, how much time you have and what you'd like to get out of your time in Sydney. That's where local knowledge can make a real difference — helping you see the highlights while also discovering some of the places you might otherwise miss.
